Google Play keyword research: what the store actually indexes
Google Play does not give developers an Apple-style public keyword popularity number. That makes metadata fit, autocomplete and measured rankings more important, not less.
Google Play discovers terms from the listing metadata and the store’s search systems. The practical question is not “what number did a tool invent?” but “does this phrase describe the app, appear in real search behavior and produce a rank we can observe?”

Do not trade relevance for density
Google Play’s metadata policy warns against spammy repetition, excessive punctuation and misleading text. Repeating a term until the description sounds unnatural can damage trust while adding little ranking value.
Country matters too. A phrase that is useful in the United States may be absent, translated differently or much more competitive in Germany or Canada. Keep storefronts separate in both research and reporting.
