How ranking outcomes are measured
Why Benchmarks and What moved compare rankings 5–21 days after a listing change.
A store listing change does not affect rankings immediately. Stores need time to re-index the listing, and rankings can continue moving after the first new position appears. Reading the result too early can attribute temporary movement to the edit.
The comparison window
AsoTheory compares the ranking recorded before the listing change with readings taken 5–21 days afterward. Anything inside the first five days is excluded from the outcome calculation.
What counts as an outcome
For changes to indexed fields, the comparison follows tracked keywords across the window. Benchmarks group those results across apps and storefronts; What moved shows the same measurement for one app.
